Aggressor camouflage. F-16 Alaskan Forest “Splinter”Green/Black/Brown
The 18th AGRS is slowly painting its F-16C Block 30 fleet in different variations of the striking “splinter” camouflage pattern. “The flat black paint on the F-16 Aggressor is a base coat in preparation for the new forest green paint scheme. The black base coat is the first step in preparing the aircraft for its paint process. Both the USAF and the Navy’s Aggressor team have experimented more boldly with various aggressor patterns in recent years, particularly since relations with Russia deteriorated following the country’s invasion of Crimea. The “splinter” pattern has been worn by various Russian tactical aircraft over the years, including the new T-50 fighter, although it has largely been relegated to development and test aircraft.The green, brown and black tones on the other hand are used by many potentially hostile air forces around the world, including the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force. Venezuela also flies its own. F-16 in very similar tones.Other F-16s of the Fighting Falcon 18th AGRS Eielson AFB Alaska were also painted in Green, Brown Sand matte at the same time as this sample 86-0295 & 86-0310. We keep an eye on these jets, although it will be hard for the Eielson team to outdo themselves again.
