C-130H HERCULES Hellenic Air Force
Here are some pictures of my old classic them, a C-130H HERCULES in Hellenic Air Force duty. It is the old Italeri kit in scale 1/48 with pure detail components.
The first job I did was to re-scribe all the panel lines. I included many photo etched items from Flightpath’s detail set and Allison T-56 Turbine from Engines and Things.
I scratch-built the radar antenna and avionic bays, all interior cockpit and cargo detail components, Auxiliary Power Unit and a lot of smaller scratch-building details.
Rudder and flaps were cut and repositioned. I added 13 small 12V leds for interior cargo and cockpit illumination.
I painted the model in SEA camo, with Model Master colors: (medium Green, dark Green, dark Tan and light Grey) and finished it with extensive weathering.
A lot of decals set was from Deco Products, representing an C-130H in H.A.F service, participating for E.U Force group mission in Libreville, Gabon in 2006.
It was a great build and a challenge for me! I hope you enjoy my model.
