The Hellenic Air Force flies the Mirage 2000 since 1988, except the French air force, it’s the only air force in Europe to use the Mirage 2000.
The aircraft were delivered between 1988 and 1989 :
– 4 Mirage 2000BG (two-seats)
– 36 Mirage 2000EG (one-seat).
(it’s the export versions of Mirage 2000B and C).
These aircraft are shared between 331Sqn and 332Sqn within the Combat Wing 114 on Tanagra AB.
These aircraft were modernized during 90’s, equipped with new radar, with capacity to launch Super 530D Air-to-Air, and Anti-ship AM-39 EXOCET missiles.
they are re-designated EGM/BGM (M for modernized).
Early 2000’s, Greece place order for 15 news Mirage 2000-5 Mk2 :
– 5 Mirage 2000-5BG) (two-seats)
– 10 Mirage 2000-5EG) (one seat).
– and convert 10 Mirage 2000EGM to -5 Mk2 standard
It’s the last Mirage 2000s build.
The Mirage 2000EGM/BGM are transmitted to 332Sqn, and 331Sqn receipt the Mirage2000-5Mk2.
