Hi to all!! – I don’t know where to start and what to do for this project! I wanted to make such a model in my mind for a long time. Although it looked sad to me, I liked the whole thing, with the wear, the locks, the faded colors and the engine room open. When I made the decision to start I knew it was difficult but also very time consuming. A few words about the A-7D / E Corsair II Kit – At first I was wondering if the fairly good Hasegawa kit was worth buying compared to the Hobby Boss one, since I had removed several Kits. Few and many advantages, so I decided to get the Hasegawa kit. Let’s go to its construction:
For the cockpit he used the Aires resin kit as well as the wheel arches, also from Aires. All the rest made by her with a plastic friend from Evergreen. Everything was removed in the electronics boxes, as everything is removed as it was in reality. On the left there is only an open door communicating with the engine air intake and on the right several open windows with various pipes and cables all made from scratch. Ahead is the radar area which is also empty as the radar is missing. An additional correction was made to the feed pipe and as I saw that the Kit part was not correct I started to build from evergreen while a Master feed sensor went in front. Another big piece is the engine bay, which was built from scratch faithfully following the photos of our abandoned Corsair. Everything is missing, all that is there are pipes and some nerves from the fuselage.
Hi, I chose to keep Keith as that gives it right. One of the two ran flat as I only wanted to keep the wheel while the other wheel just wiggled its tire quite a bit. Another big piece that I chose to open was the lockers at the back of the aircraft, and I chose to leave half of its two wings left and right. Painting and Weathering:
For the aircraft variant I used MRP colors. Codes: FS34079, FS34102, FS30219, FS36622. All colors opened with white over 70 – 30 as the aircraft over the years, sun, rain its colors are almost gone. A high gloss varnish was then applied to the MRP and after it was left to rest for two days the etching was done with oil paints (dark green, light green, brown, white and grey). Depending on the color of the variant, the corresponding oils were also applied to lighten the relief and rivets of the aircraft. On its belly there are some runs of mainly rust to emphasize the situation. The model is adorned with the Icarus Decals emblem. No surgery was done as most are in good health. Finally, the entire aircraft except for the engine compartment went through the MRP lacquer and the doors that needed to be open…
