F-4E Phantom AUP

F-4E Phantom II AUP Aegean Ghost

The Phantom entered service with the HAF in 1974 as part of the “Peace Icarus” weapons program. Although this is a second generation aircraft, 36 Hellenic Phantoms have been upgraded with advanced electronics (“Peace Ikaros 2000” program), extending their service life. They are based at Andravidas Air Base (117th Fighter Wing, 338th and 339th Squadrons with callsigns “Mars” and “Aias” respectively) After the upgrade program, all Greek F-4Es wear the “Aegean Ghost” camouflage.
