CHANCE VOUGHT’S
XF4U-3
XF4U-3B BuNo 49664 shows an aircraft that looks similar to a standard F4U-1 with the exception
of the four-blade propeller. While the speeds of the non-turbosupercharged Corsairs decreased at altitude, the Birmann turbosupercharger-equipped XF4U-3 attained speeds of 480-mph at 40,000-feet. (Vought)

It was a project I wanted to build for a long time.
In terms of construction, I took the Tamiya kit and installed a propeller from Tamiya’s P-47.
Pratt & Whitney R-2800 (late) Double Wasp propeller 1:48
Product number: VEC48-0041:48 Manufacturer: Vector.

I built with Tamiya Epoxy Putty (Quick Type) – Tamiya Epoxy Putty (Quick Type) The entire Turbo’s call and the final exhaust with fine friendly plastic.
I should mention at this point that BuNo 49664 is slightly different in the final exhaust. Compared to the other two prototypes that ended in a scalloped bezel, BuNo 49664 had a teardrop design to reduce glare.Installs the F4U-1 Corsair Bird Cage cockpit set
Aires | No. 4247 | 1:48.

The interior of the fuselage was baptized

MRP-131 Interior Green

MRP-229 Dark Dull Green

MRP-140 Medium Green ww2

MRP-129 Zinc Chromate Primer

MRP-255 Black ww2

After I carefully attached the wings to the fuselage,re-engraving with rivets was necessary to highlight all the details. The next stage was also the most enjoyable.I started and painted the yellow and red on the rear fender and steering wheel and since I insured the color. I dropped the basic blue

MRP-142 Orange Yellow ww2

MRP-002 Insignia Red

MRP-237 Sea Blue

MRP-014 Sea Blue

Decals with serial numbers were made with the help of a laser printer. For more information, I refer you to an article with my detailed photos
