XF4U-3 TAMIYA 1/48
XF4U-3B BuNo 49664 shows an aircraft that looks like a typical F4U-1 except for
the four-bladed propeller. While the speeds of the non-supercharged Corsairs decreased with altitude, the Birmann turbocharged XF4U-3 achieved speeds of 480 mph at 40,000 feet. (Vote)A project I’ve been wanting to build for a while.
For the build, I got the Tamiya kit and installed a propeller from a Tamiya P-47.

I built with Tamiya Epoxy Putty (Quick Type) – Tamiya Epoxy Putty (Quick Type) The entire Turbo call and the final exhaust with thin friendly plastic.
I should mention at this point that BuNo 49664 is slightly different in the final exhaust. Compared to the other two prototypes which ended up with a combed rim, BuNo 49664 had drops designed to reduce reflection. Installs the F4U-1 Corsair Bird Cage cockpit set

After carefully securing the wings to the fuselage, re-riveting with rivets was required to get all the details. The next stage was also the most enjoyable. I started and painted the yellow and red on the rear wing and rudder and after the paint was secured. I dropped the basic blue
